A person who has an unexplained collapse, 'blackout' or 'turn' is usually anxious to know why this happened, but the reason is not always easy to find. Medical tests or a visit to a specialist may be recommended and time can pass before a diagnosis is made. On learning that they have, in fact, had a seizure, many feel confused and uncertain about their health and the future.
Developed and published by Epilepsy Australia, Seizures & Epilepsy answers many of the concerns raised at diagnosis.

This large picture story book looks at the feelings of a baby possum when he is told he has epilepsy. He feels frightened and sad, because he thinks he is different to the other possums. He has an EEG, and a chat with a nice neurologist, who gives him some tablets for his epilepsy. His friend Ruby Rosella, helps him to realise we are all different, and that life can still be full of fun. This book has beautiful, full colour illustrations, as well as pages of fun, creative ideas for activities to help children understand the story.
